LEM Formation Program

All Christians are called to the fullness of Christian life and to use their gifts and talents to transform the world into Jesus' vision. The Holy Spirit empowers the faithful in this work. Some people are called to service in a particular ministry and collaboration within the Church. These lay people who prepare for service have been identified as "lay ecclesial ministers" by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Office of Religious Education is accepting applications for screening and admission the 2010-2011 Lay Ecclesial Ministry Formation Program. The diocesan leadership formation program offers intellectual, spiritual, and human development activities on Saturdays approximately nine times a year over a three to four year period. Fully- initiated Catholics who are currently serving in the parish are encouraged to find out more about the program. A recommendation from the pastor is required.
